At Lehman, Character Is Key

Rainy, dismal day here. So I spent the afternoon cleaning out my files.

Among the buried treasures: This passage from a Lehman Brothers’ recruiting Web site that I used as a reference for a project I was hired to write.

It’s nice to see that character was key—except when it came to balance sheet manipulation, I guess.

Companies need to stop advertising their integrity and begin exercising it instead.
