Cable news shows were buzzing last night about The New Yorker’s “The Politics of Fear” cover. Their networks should give equal time to the “Commercialization of Terror.”
Ads for this “government-authorized Liberian legal tender September 11th commemorative” have been polluting late-night cable shows over the past week, barely raising a comment.
The commerical (you can see it here) may seem like a Saturday Night Live parody, but it’s not.
The cable networks should do the right thing and pull the plug on this “silvery tribute to all who were lost on that tragic day” immediately.
Oh, by the way: Twenty Liberian dollars are worth about 32 cents in U.S. currency. National Collector’s Mint should be ashamed.
