I know that Coke and Bud won the battle of the Super Bowl ads. But my vote goes to P&G’s Tide.
Rather than creating a one-off advertisement, the company used its 30 seconds to launch a new advertising icon.
While it’s not exactly the Pillsbury Dough Boy, I’ll bet the Tide To Go “talking stain” has legs. (Metaphorically, of course.)
There’s already been a huge response to Tide’s “My Talking Stain” ad contest, including the spoof above.
Will Underdog and Charlie Brown sell more Coke? Not sure. But I’ll bet Tide To Go makes a big mark in the laundry-detergent aisle this week.
