The Best BOGO of the Holiday Season

Everyone knows that it’s better to give than receive. But, heck, what if you could give AND receive?

The folks at One Laptop Per Child—yep, that’s the philanthropic group started by Nicholas Negroponte—have come up with a clever holiday promotion that rewards contributors for doing good for others. XOLaptop150.jpg

Through December 31, you can “gift” an XO laptop to a child in a developing country… and get one of ingeniously designed (and WiFi-enabled) computers sent to you as a way of saying “thanks.”

The cost is only $399, about half of which is tax deductible. Plus, T-Mobile is offering one year of complimentary HotSpot access to everyone who participates in the program.

If you’re still scrambling to buy the perfect gift for someone on your shopping list, you won’t
find a better BOGO (buy one, get one) this holiday season.

I’ll even keep the “free computer” part our little secret, just in case you’re tempted to keep it for yourself.
