Marketing with a Ribbon and a Rhyme

Present.jpgI got my first holiday catalogue in September. And electric razor ads have already begun to get under my skin.

But the holiday season doesn’t officially begin for me until I see my first Lexus “December to Remember” commercial.

Sure, the ads are annoying. But they’ve been enormously effective, too. Lexus sells more vehicles in December than any other month. (Really.)

So ho-ho-hold the criticism. Lexus turned a dud month into a blockbuster with just a ribbon and a rhyme.

Simplicity still sells. And so does persistence. It’s something to think about as you wrap up your 2008 marketing plan over the next few weeks.
